Plover, WI (October 3, 2016)— Women In Trucking Association (WIT) announces Cynthia De La Rosa as its October Member of the Month. Cynthia is a professional driver for ACME Truck Line in Houston, TX.

Because her father was a truck driver, Cynthia grew up around trucks. From the time she was four years old, she would ride with him on long trips. She loved sitting in the driver’s seat, grabbing the steering wheel and pretending to drive and talk on the CB radio.

As soon as she turned 21 years old in 2001, she got her interstate driver’s license. However, at the time she opted to start a real estate career. The economic decline prompted her to take another look at truck driving in 2008. Since then, she has been a professional truck driver.

“I’ve been very grateful to my terminal manager Willie Morales for trusting me and giving me the opportunity to grow as a professional driver. I completed five years of employment as an owner-operator with ACME Truck Line, and I still love the adrenaline that I feel every time they call me to go to work,” said Cynthia.

At ACME Truck Line, she began hauling pipe on flatbeds for the oil rigs. A couple of years later, they gave her the opportunity to buy a drop deck trailer and haul oversized loads. And then last year, she bought her own double drop stretch trailer.

“I always felt that every load is a different challenge. I can’t help but to feel the adrenaline and get excited about hauling an oversized load. The wider, taller, heavier, or challenging the load is, the more excited I get,” she said.
